90210 Is Strangely High School
Tuesday night’s premiere of CW’s 90210 was… alright. It wasn’t especially boring but we didn’t just enjoy it. During the show, some thing felt off to us, some thing we couldn’t actually name until it all of a sudden occured to us that the show felt SO higher school! The demonstrate is about substantial school, you say, so obviously it really is intended to experience higher college. But the characters in the previous handful of ‘high school’ dramas that I’ve watched have been so un-large-college, 90210′s characters and enviornment appeared comparatively youthful and teensy. Consider again: Although The OC was also about spoilt kids who go to a prosperous, Californian college, Marissa (Mischa Barton) and Summer time (Rachel Bilson) appeared to deal with a lot more non-school-associated troubles and the only time we see them at college was to see them chat by their lockers. Veronica Mars was so mature and sensible that I never ever genuinely assumed of her as a dumb teenager. As for Gossip Woman, Blair, Serena and occasionally even Jenny seem to be so worldly and glamorous that it just won’t appear like typical higher college to us.
So viewing the little ones on 90210 really undertaking substantial school issues like playing lacrose, messing up the rival college, copying a friend’s research, getting grounded, taking part in college performs and boys beating every other up. Naturally substantial school’s not meant to be sophisticated but we’re just not employed to it! And indeed, of program we noticed the clothing!
The primary character whose title was so forgetable I had to appear up, is Annie. In the very first episode, she wore very basic high college garments, like a camisole with denim skirt. 
And search, jeans with standard tops. Absolutely nothing fancy!
Silver (yes, that’s the character’s name,) whose supposed to gown hipster/ hippie/ edgy is my favourite ‘fashion character’ on the demonstrate so far. (She seems way cooler in the present than in this photo. I could not discover a better one.)
The well-known lady, Naomi dresses only ok. As you can see from her hideous outfit here, she’s no Marissa Cooper. And she’s actually into putting on designer-flashing items, like Chanel logo equipment.
As for the get together outfit, Annie acquired to put on an high-priced gown (simply because Naomi bought it for her.) Silver seems to be so neat with a basic ballerina-seeking American Attire dress with prolonged necklaces. I am hunting foward to far more of Silver’s outfits! So you can clearly explain to I am not impressed with the girls’ outfits -but that is 1 of the points that is making this demonstrate appear so ‘high school’ to me. Ideally the drama will get far more intriguing in the next handful of episodes. How considerably did you like the new 90210?
