Halloween on the Streets 2011
Runway inspiration is all very good and nicely, but in addition to the Prada lace-y vamp seem, the rest are not exactly easily achievable. So I did a more generic brainstorm and arrived up with this:
Has everyone seen that movie lately, “How to Drop Friends and Alienate Folks”? In it, Kirstin Dunst goes to a costume celebration and dresses up as a 20s flapper girl (however I feel she had a certain flapper girl in head given that the theme was “Favourite Dead Individuals”), seeking awesome in a black bob, long cigarette, red lipsticks and slinky black gown.
That was when it clicked! I want to be a flapper woman this Halloween! It won’t even be that tough. All I require to get is a black bob wig, a extended cigarette holder and a black slinky gown and then place on pale foundation, smokey eyes and hot red lipsticks- viola, flapper woman!
I even know exactly which gown I’d purchase as well. This FCUK fringe gown is perfect. I can even use it yet again for a night time out (even although it is not precisely my normal design…)! But nonetheless, I adore the concept that I will not be squandering too considerably cash on a cheap hunting costume I’d only get to have on once. I actually went into a actual costume retailer my 1st time nowadays and I should say, I was not impressed. The costume outfits for ladies usually search inexpensive and skanky. And I’m not about to fork out $ 50USD to seem inexpensive and skanky.
I also appeared at the fangs. I assumed, worse scenario scenario, I can just dress in all black, use pale basis and red lipsticks and with the fangs, I can be a vampire. A wonderful easy Halloween costume. But then I seemed at the packaging and received somewhat weirded out. “Molding” plastic things into my mouth and in among my teeth- that is NOT prescribed by my orthodontist- just goes in opposition to my natural instincts. What if it screws up all the good perform my orth spent many many years attaining? I imagined fangs ended up just caught on… I guess not.
So in the stop, I walked out with a black bob wig and a reaper rake. The bob due to the fact I’ve always wanted 1 and it’ll go with the flapper search (however this a single is not precisely my ideal 1 lead to it has random silver streaks in it…but whichever) and grim reaper’s rake, just simply because it is fun to wave all around a reaper rake at men and women. I know, completely random. I am not exactly sure what I am heading to do with them….but I guess I will figure it out in the next 3 days!
