New York S/S09: Marchesa

Marchesa has constantly produced fairly attire on the runway, but this assortment blew me absent. It is every single girl’s dream wardrobe! There ended up sweet and cute cocktail dresses that are youthful and glamorous. I adore how even though the designs are so easy, the styles are so unique- in a very good way. The silhouette is familiar, but I’ve surely not witnessed these dresses before! There have been classy evening gowns, complimented by major oriental embroideries. I’ve in no way liked the total fringe thing, due to the fact I believe it looks creepy- like Cousin “It.” But this black gown is definitely an exception to the rule. It seems to be a lot more like a black waterfall flowing down her legs.
Then there were exquisitely gorgeous pieces that just can make you want to end and stare. And admire. They are much more like pieces of art than ready-to-wear, more perpetuated by their strategy of presentation- with the versions standing atop white cubes like sculptures (need to be tiring for the types!). In fact, I think that most of these pieces are 1 of a variety. I wonder what they’d promote in their shop then…
This dress is my absolute favourite. I love the barely there lilac shade. I enjoy the orchids strewn artistically down the dress (it is apparently created of feathers!). I adore the inventive folds of the best, contrasted with the frothing lilac waterfall that is the bottom. Every little thing. I can just stare at it all day!
And this arrives in a shut second. The sharp contrasting black and white coloration with the delicate layers of the skirt creates the ideal harmony that is definitely striking!

The SS09 assortment was undoubtedly a feast for the eye!
